Who is this class suited to?
This two-day masterclass is aimed at floral designers with some floristry experience.
About the class
Sarah Diligent of Floribunda Rose and Liz Inigo Jones of Blue Sky Flowers have a wealth of experience in designing and executing wedding floristry for luxury weddings.
Day one will begin with Liz demonstrating how to create beautiful table arrangements using chicken wire or kenzan in a footed bowl. She’ll talk to you about pricing and transporting your table arrangements, then you’ll choose from the most beautiful late summer and early autumn blooms and create your own.
Your designs will be photographed individually, before being added to an abundantly dressed tablescape which will also be photographed, ready for a delicious lunch surrounded by flowers.
In the afternoon Sarah will take the lead and show how she creates wild and naturally abundant bouquets two ways, with chicken wire armatures and hand tied. She’ll talk you through costings and presentation and you’ll then create your own. You will have the choice of a selection of beautifully hand dyed silk ribbons to finish your bouquet with, so that it’s fully dressed and ready to be photographed for your portfolio.
Day two will take place at a local wedding venue (location to be confirmed) and it’s all about large structures. Sarah and Liz will start the morning talking about the structures themselves, discussing Chuppahs, Mandaps and Arches.
They will talk you through suitable materials, costings, fixing points, labour, timeframes, what must have items go into our kit bags, transportation, safety and insurance.
Liz and Sarah will demonstrate how to set up on site and talk you through the process.
You will work together with Sarah and Liz to create a fully dressed Chuppah and our photographer will capture your work, and you working, so that you can show that you are comfortable and confident creating large, flowerful, wildly abundant wedding installations.
(Refreshments and lunch will be served when we’re ready for them)
Knowing how the logistics of taking down large structures works is important, and by doing this together you’ll feel comfortable and confident when it comes to doing this next time.
The final practical element is taking everything down together and packing up. After that, you’ll head back to the studio for a Q&A session so that you can ask any questions that you’ve thought of throughout the masterclass, before Sarah and Liz congratulate you on your success and you celebrate with a glass of bubbly and cake!
The cost of this 2 day masterclass is £1000 and runs from 10am – 5pm
Gift vouchers available soon.
This price includes the use of all sundries, equipment, flowers, foliage, a vase for your bouquet and a ceramic bowl for your bowl arrangement, tuition, lunch and refreshments for both days and professional photographs of you and your work. For group work, large designs will be deconstructed, and you are welcome to take a proportion of the flowers and foliages used with you at the end of the class so feel free to bring a bucket!
